Originally released in December 2016, I support Linux-libre 4.9 for 6
ye
ars from release: The first 2 years under Long-Term Support (LTS)
and
then 4 more under Extended-Term Support (ETS).

This is to let you know that the 2 year Long-Term Support (LTS)
period for 4.9 will end next month, on December 31, and it will move
to Extended-Term Support (ETS) status.

ETS kernels are still fully supported, but are maintained in a
separate repository. If you would like to receive continued updates
and support for 4.9 after December 31, please contact me to arrange
access to the ETS repository.

If not, now would be a good time to review the currently supported
versions and make appropriate plans to move to a newer one so as to
continue to receive updates and support from a non-ETS version.

Information about currently supported versions can be found at [0].

Also, for those that are willing to compile their kernels from
source, newer versions of 4.9 will continue to be available in source
code form at [1] until it becomes End-Of-Life (EOL) in January 2023.

Those using 4.9 and desiring to remain on an LTS kernel, but not
continue under ETS and not wanting to build 4.9 from source, would do
well to upgrade to one of the other LTS versions, which are currently
4.14 and 4.19, which I support under LTS until January 2020 and
October 2020 respectively.
